Turkey’s coronavirus death toll reached 3,641 on Thursday, while the number of cases increased by 1,977 to 133,721, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
The chart indicated that in the last 24 hours Turkey had received the results of 30,395 new tests.
A total of 4,782 people with the coronavirus infection recovered in that time period, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 82,984.
Intensive care treatment is being provided for 1,260 of the cases, 665 of whom are connected to ventilators.
Turkey announced its first coronavirus case on March 11.
Koca told reporters today that Turkey has entered a new phase in the coronavirus fight in which compliance with social measures would be strictly monitored.
